Triciapedia Tips: Work From Home

I’ve been successfully working remotely for over a decade. First as part of a mostly virtual organization, and then in a role where I reported to an office but had one remote colleague. Even when I spent seven years in an office, most of my client work was done remotely by conference call. And since launching Triciapedia in November, 2018 I have managed this business from home.

So many of my clients and friends are experiencing work from home for the first time. This week, I’m sharing each day my tips for creating a work from home routine that works for you. Let’s start with the basics—you need a place to work.

  1. Create a work space.

You need a dedicated work space in your home. It can be a corner of a room—you want something that distances you from distractions, and your kitchen! Make it yours by setting it up with some personal items like photos and a notebook.

  2. Find the light.

Set yourself up near a window for natural light and good video conference results. Make sure that window has a shade, too so you can adjust the light throughout the day. This is your chance to have a corner office with a window! ;)
